HEB ISD Prioritizes Students
82% of the budget directly supports instruction of our students.

Students at the Center
Motivated by a strong desire to continue to unite around our diverse community, we place each student at the center of our decision-making process to always do what is best for them. By employing dedicated educators in all of our campuses, we are providing a vibrant and supportive learning environment that prepares students for their futures.

Doing More With Less
Like many public school districts in Texas, HEB ISD is finding it more and more difficult to maintain smaller class sizes and support student programs without dipping into reserves to address budget constraints. Projected declines in student enrollment will also adversely affect state funding.
Thankfully, conservative budgeting and a lean central administration structure have helped HEB ISD avoid deficit spending so far. We are seeing enrollment in many Texas public schools declining, which would have an impact on our staffing levels and the number of teachers in our buildings.

86% of the HEB ISD budget goes to personnel costs
This means there is little to no capacity to make significant budget cuts without impacting positions and people. The best way to increase state funding for HEB ISD schools is through improved attendance and adding more students.
